Golden Wax GW 464 is a natural soy wax containing a soy based additive to reduce frosting and increase fragrance load. GW 464 is designed for use in container candles and blends well with other waxes, such as paraffin, slack, and microcrystalline wax. It is not recommended to blend GW 464 with beeswax. The lower melt point of this wax enables it to have improved jar adhesion and helps prevent wet spots. A heat gun may be necessary to smooth out tops on finished candles.

Candle Making Notes:
Golden Wax's soy waxes are a little newer than those from Cargill and Nature's Gifts, but they've become very popular with candlemakers worldwide - especially the 464.

It gives a smooth and creamy appearance - mostly due to its low melt point. While this helps create a nice look and helps to reduce frosting, it can be a little too soft for the summer heat. If you are shipping finished candles in hot weather, you may want to look at a soy wax with a higher melt point, like the GB 444.

Golden Wax 464 holds lots of fragrance an tends to throw fragrance very well.

Basic Guidelines:

Melt point: 115° to 120°
Heat wax to around 185°
Add dye if desired and mix thoroughly
Add candle fragrance if desired and mix thoroughly
Pouring temperatures should typically be around 130° to 145°, though experimentation is recommended to determine optimal pouring temperature
Allow candles to cool as slow as possible to achieve good jar adhesion and create a smooth finish
Wait at least 24 hours before burning
Wick testing is recommended to achieve optimal burning characteristics and will vary with different combinations of wax, fragrance, dye, and container size

Great but where’s the 50lb?

Living close by makes sense to drive down and pick up. What I don’t like is that it’s just left on the curb for anyone to pick up and in the heat.

What I do like is that it’s close and the 464 is what I like to use.

Can you bring back the 50lb? And sort out a different pick up routine please

It would be safe to assume that you have not purchased with our company before because our store has never sold 50 lbs only 45lbs of wax. That size is out of stock and is expected to be in stock shortly as we have recently moved and are now working on restocking inventory.

Also the curbside option never results in leaving customers products unattended outside. It is a method where we accommodate our customers to avoid shipping fees by picking up from a local location. A store representative arrives at the requested appointment time and brings the order out to the customer once the customer arrives. Never are products left unattended. These steps are also provided to the customer at time of check out. This is a temporary location for us as our original location did have in store shopping but as of now shipping or pickup appointments will be the only option until we relocate. I was looking for a local candle supply company in my area. ( let's face it shipping rate are crazy now) I stumbled across SFCS, I didn't see alot of reviews so will admit I was scared to order. Needless to say has been by far one of my best decisions in my journey of making candle. I purchased 464 Soy Wax and a bunch of other items (FO, Wicks). The wax is a smooth top finisher and easy to work with, now the Cocoa Butter Cashmere amazing and has been a hit in my tester line. The staff was very nice and help with tips on making candles. Like I said I will be a customer for life. Did I mention the staff was friendly and nice. It was very welcoming to put a face to the company.
